RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

✧ Eye Movement Settings

💡Tip: These settings help the eyes move naturally in VRChat.

Because the eyes are more realistic, they need a little extra resistance to keep them from moving too far.

To get to this section go to:

  • Avatars Inspector > Select > Configure > Muscles & Settings

These settings also look great when paired with Blendshapes States

  • vrc.Blink, vrc.LookUp, vrc.LookDown

✧ Eye Look Settings

💡 Tip: These settings were made to work perfectly with the Blendshape States shown below.

✧ Eye Depth Settings

💡 Tip: Parallax Heightmapping adds extra depth to the eyes, helping them look more realistic and less like contacts.

Two textures are included:

  • Parallax Heightmapping - Height Map
  • Parallax Heightmapping - Mask

Add each texture to its matching slot in the Parallax Heightmapping section, then use the settings shown below.

✧ Transparent Materials settings

💡 Tip: Below are a few examples of how I set up transparent materials.

  • The first three images show how Blend Strength changes the eyelashes.
  • The bottom right image shows my settings for transparent emotes/eyebrows.

✧ Blend Strength

💡 Tip: I recommend trying Transparent, TransClipping or Fade to see which one you like best!

  • 1.0 for a soft look
  • 1.5 for a balanced starter look
  • 2.0 for a stronger look

✧  transparent brows/emotes for quest users

💡 Tip: I created transparent textures so quest users could have transparent brows and emotes too.

Textures are located here:

  • HONEYLAB Head > Textures > 4.Extras > 11. Transparent Textures For Quest Users

Below are the setting I'd recommend using with them.

Shader: VRChat/Mobile/Particles/Multiply

✧  Subsurface Scattering Setup

💡 Tip: I created special SSS textures that control where that light shows through on your avatar body + head.

Textures are located here:

  • HONEYLAB Head > Textures > 1.Head Textures > Mask, Normal Maps & Tints

Below are the setting I'd recommend using with them.
